Job Description: Social Media & Administrative Assistant (Intern)


Peer Mentor Circles is an online community of graduates and young professionals who meet virtually to tackle and work through career challenges. The aim of the virtual Peer Mentor Circles (PMC) is to build supportive virtual relationships between young people at different stages in life by sharing knowledge and experience, and providing opportunities to learn from one another.

Peer Mentor Circles run virtual meetings focusing on a different topic every 4-8 weeks. Members join these online meetings, contribute, discuss and learn from one another. After the meetings, resources are shared on our website, so that people have the option to review and reflect on the issues discussed.

We are looking for an intern to support our social media and administrative activities on a monthly basis.

The role can be performed virtually and will require approximately 10 hours a month, including one monthly call with Peer Mentor Circles founder.

Roles & Responsibilities

Social Media

The role of the intern will be to manage the social media pages for Peer Mentor Circles, including responding to ad hoc queries and requests via Twitter and Facebook, building up our follower count and engaging with organisations and individuals of interest to PMC. The ideal candidate will be proactive in finding relevant content to share on our Twitter and Facebook feeds, as well as interesting articles to include in our monthly newsletter.

Member Community engagement and Newsletter

The intern will manage emails and updates to our members, including drafting and sending out invitations for upcoming virtual sessions, and sending out a monthly newsletter using MailChimp.

Online Meeting Prep and Coordination

The intern will be responsible for setting up the online meetings for upcoming sessions. Occasionally you may also be required to help prepare materials that will be used in our sessions. You will need to join these sessions, and will be responsible for uploading recordings and summary notes to our website.

Other Administrative activities

The intern will need to check our mailing lists regularly to ensure records are up to date. From time to time, you may be required to make minor changes to our website.

Peer Mentor Circles is a non-profit online community managed by our founder. As such, in return for your services, we offer £50 / N25,000 per month.
